Hi Mom Mother's Day gift

Hi Mom

Mom needs to hear this.

A little bit thank you, a little bit I'm sorry, a little bit I get it. And a little bit funny.

"Hi Mom" is an illustrated ode to mothers and motherhood. To the hard times and the good. A poem from the perspective of grown or growing kids who have caught a glimpse of what it might have really been like for mom, who finally learned some of the lessons she taught and yearn to give back a little of the love she saved for them.

It's the perfect gift from anyone with a mother figure in their life. It's guaranteed to make her smile-- and will probably make her cry.

Free shipping from now until May 5-- we'll send it to you or straight to your mom. We'll even add a personalized note if you'd like! Email us at with what you'd like to say and we'll personally inscribe it.

    "For every birthday cake

    with one more candle,

for every year you had to handle

    my mess

and let me be the center of attention-

    you never mentioned

    the real hero was you."

  • About the Author

Miles Petty is a dreamer and poet from Salt Lake City, Utah. While running a small pie shop, he started “Pies and Poetry” nights and made it a goal to always include original works of his own. This renewed a love for creating and expression that he continued to build on even after the pie shop closed. While in a graduate program, he authored his first two published works, “I Love You Like,” from a poem he read at his wedding, and “Hi Mom”. He is the third of four siblings and lives with his wife and daughter in downtown Salt Lake City.

  • About the Illustrator

Julia Peterson is an artist from Alpine, Utah, who studied art at the University of Utah. She met Miles through a tear-off-contact-info-help-wanted ad he placed on a bulletin board in the art building asking for help with illustrations. She took his words and created imagery that beautifully captures mothers in all their splendid complexity.
