  • About the Author

    Miles Petty is a dreamer and poet from Salt Lake City, Utah. While running a small pie shop, he started “Pies and Poetry” nights and made it a goal to always include original works of his own. This renewed a love for creating and expression that he continued to build on even after the pie shop closed. While in a graduate program, he authored his first two published works, “I Love You Like,” from a poem he read at his wedding, and “Hi Mom”. He is the third of four siblings and lives with his wife and daughter in downtown Salt Lake City.

  • About the Illustrator

    Julia Peterson is an artist from Alpine, Utah, who studied art at the University of Utah. She met Miles through a tear-off-contact-info-help-wanted ad he placed on a bulletin board in the art building asking for help with illustrations. She took his words and created imagery that beautifully captures mothers in all their splendid complexity.
